“My name is Khan and I m not a terrorist” this is true. Nor every Muslim is a terrorist. I am not here to favor Muslims, I respect all the religions but over the past few years, there has been a growing tendency to dub Muslims as terrorists which makes it difficult for innocent Muslims to live proudly in a society.

People say that Muslims are spreading terror all over the world in the way of suicide bombing, which all of the non Muslims have named as "JIHAD" but they don't know the real meaning of "JIHAD". It means "holy war". Jihad is fighting for rights and religion. We are the follower of prophet HAZRAT MOHEMMED (S.A.W.) who was the most loving & honest person the world has ever had, so how can be their followers could be terrorists?  

Muslims are not the follower of terrorism. They are the true follower of Islam which is a religion of peace. It never teaches any Muslim the chapter of terrorism, it teaches the most peaceful way of living life. People call Islam, a religion of cruelty and violence but they don’t actually know what Islam is all about. Islam is also one of the most peaceful religions followed.  A real Muslim can never be a terrorist and he cannot go against this fact that Islam teaches us that the murder of an innocent person is the murder of humanity as a whole.

Not every Muslim is bad, not even every Muslim is connected to terrorism but people think this because they hear "bad" stories about them and automatically think that everyone who is a Muslim is bad.This is the only reason that Muslims face problems in a society. Many prefer people of other religions everywhere than Muslims.

After 9/11, many boys of my class started calling me a terrorist just because I am a “Khan”, a true Muslim, a true follower of Islam. They used to say that Muslims are terrorists and so even you. And one day I questioned them- Who are Chandra Shekhar Azaad and APJ Abdul Kalam who did a lot for our country? Who are Zeenat Amaan, Shabana Azmi, Javed Akhtar,  Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan whose movies you and your family enjoy to watch? Are they connected to Terrorism?

Terrorism comprises of Muslims but is it right to call every Muslim a terrorist? If a person follows terrorism then this doesn’t mean that his brother also follows terrorism.  Muslims are not criminals. Nowadays, who is not a criminal? There are so many crimes happening every hour every day. Are all these done by Muslims?

Although we follow one religion but we should respect all religions. It’s not about favoring Islamic religion or any other but it’s about changing the perceptions that Islam is not about violence, it is not about terrorism.

Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar created yet another record in his glorious career when he scored his 100^th international ton during the fourth Asia Cup match against Bangladesh at Mirpur.

Tendulkar became the first ever batsman in world cricket to achieve the feat. He has scored 51 centuries in Test cricket and 49 in One-Day Internationals.

Australia batting great Ricky Ponting, who is also the third highest run-getter in Test cricket, is at the second place in context of number of centuries scored -- 41 in Tests and 30 in ODIs.

South Africa cricket star Jacques Kallis is at the third place in most number of international hundreds, 59 overall which includes 42 in Tests and 17 in ODIs.

Dogs are believed to be man's best friend. They would never betray you or make you cry like most of your human friends might do. All that these voiceless creatures need is love! And I feel there's no other special way to help them and let them be a part of your family! 


In India the number of stray puppies and dogs is in millions. Most of them are either born stray or abandoned by the owners unwilling to take their responsibility. Some people think that stray animals are responsible for making the environment dirty to live and cause various diseases which encourage activities like dog-killing programmes to take place.

But thanks to hundreds  of NGO's such as Friendicoes and PFA(People For Animals) working for the well being and protection of strays. But we too as humans ought to come forward and help them by actually adopting the stray puppies and provide them a better life :) 


The adoption procedure for a puppy or dog requires as much care as the adoption of a child. It can be done from an NGO, animal welfare shelter or even from your neighborhood if u find a helpless puppy who you feel urgently needs a home. Let’s help out these beautiful creatures who can't speak for themselves! Be humane to the strays.

Either a 7-year long jail term or an extreme punishment of Castration!  With the incidents of rape increasing day by day in our country, is this 7 year jail term is sufficient or should we support the suggestion of Justice Kamini Lau for an alternative punishment castration of rapists?

A Thomson Reuters Foundation global poll reveals a shocking fact that India is the fourth most dangerous place in the world for women and the main reasons for such low scoring were female foeticide, infanticide and human trafficking. It is an irony for a country where first person of the country  is a woman, President Pratibha Patil. More over four major states in India, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and West Bengal are ruled by women chief ministers J Jayalalitha, Mayawati, Sheila Dikshit and Mamata Banerjee respectively. In addition to this, the ruling congress chief (Sonia Gandhi) and the leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha (Sushma Swaraj) are also women.

Justice Lau expressed her dismay over the absence of a law allowing courts to punish rapists and molesters with castration. Castration of Rapist is an idea that has been stirring the conscience of lawmakers and upsetting human rights activists around the world. The comments of Additional Sessions Judge Kamini Lau while awarding a 10-year prison term to Dinesh Yadav, who had repeatedly raped his 15-year-old stepdaughter shouldn’t be ignored.

Sitting Ducks of India

On August 15 this year, she tweeted: “Happy Independence Day. “Proud to be an Indian.” The next day, she was found dead in her own car. She was Shehla Masood, a prominent Right to Information activist and Anna Hazare’s supporter. She was shot at point blank range in broad daylight outside her residence just after she asked for protection from the respective police department. Still it’s been months that CBI took over the case but they are not in a position to catch root of the crime.

On 5 November 2011, Nadeem Saiyed of Ahmadabad was brutally killed after being stabbed twenty five times. He filed about 40 RTIs with the Ahmadabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) between 2006 and 2009, asking questions on illegal cow slaughter and beef trade in the state. In July a Right to Information (RTI) activist Amit Jethwa who was fighting against illegal mining, which includes several politicians, was killed near the Gujarat High Court by unidentified men. Ahmedabad police official said that some unidentified men on a motorcycle fired at Jethwa.

At least 13 RTI activists are killed since 2011, apparently in revengeful attacks. RTI activists, labelled as sitting ducks in India, have paid the ultimate price for asking persistent and uncomfortable queries to higher authorities. Most of RTI activists have been murdered while some have faced serious physical attacks, exploitation under false charges to suppress their voices and some have also experienced social banishment.

RTI activists are not necessarily part of any organisation or group. They often act alone, moved by outrage against corruption and other illegal activities. The activists are extremely vulnerable as they live in the same areas as the corrupt public authorities, political leaders and mafia who do not want information about their illegal activities to be disclosed. It’s freaking sad that the activists come to the media attention only when killed, maimed or battling for life.

Uttar Pradesh elections – some challenges facing Akhilesh Yadav

In the 1984 elections, after the sudden death by assassination of Indira Gandhi, her son became the new Prime Minister and in the polls soon after, he got an astounding number of parliamentary seats giving him a huge majority – with 411 MP’s out of a total possible of 543, this was a huge mandate that he got. However, due to some misguided policies and some wrong steps (opening the locks of the Ram Janambhoomi, the Muslim Personal Law Bill, the huge controversy over the Bofors deal and a group of advisors who did nothing but mis-manage his relations with the country and the media). By the time of the 1989 elections, the support for Rajiv Gandhi and the Congress significantly declined to 197 seats.
The above example just shows that just because a party gets a huge number of seats in a particular election does not mean that this honeymoon will carry over into the next election. In fact, closer home in Uttar Pradesh, the performance of BSP in the 2007 election and then in the recent elections shows how fickle public support can be. Now, with the Samajwadi Party making a huge win in the elections, and then nominating Akhilesh Yadav to be the Chief Minister, the SP can set the ground for continuing this winning way in the future, or crash and burn in the next few years.

The Place of Women in Indian Society .

Ours is a hypocritical society:
We say one thing. We do some thing other. We profess morality. We preach values. Honour our womenfolk. We place them on a lofty platform. We recite scriptures in their honour. We sing in praise of Sita, Savitri and Damayanti But we are hollow within. We have given equal rights to our women in our constitution. We talk of women liberation movement. But it is a sad reality that our women are slaves as they were ages ago. It is pleasant to talk about women liberation but no one gives them real freedom.

India is a male dominated society:
Boys are preferred to daughters. Men are superior to women. Man governs unquestioned. The son is always honoured. But why? He will bring us a rich dowry. He will earn for his parents. He will give shelter to his aged parents. He will carry on his father's generation.

What an illustrious achievement! It is a fact universally acknowledged in India that sons are as sincere as daughters. It is also true that sons barring exception send out their aged parents when the later are unable to work, sons inherit their father's wealth.

Daughters are a curse:
Parents have to arrange large dowry for them. Daughters are treated as liabilities. It is true to some extent. We have to check the menace of dowry. Girls should reject dowry-hunters. They should organize themselves and fight man injustice against women. They should fight against cruel social inequalities heaped on them. They should women be molested, raped and humiliated in public? Why should not they raise their voice against such injustices?

Women have to be given economic independence to begin with:
Freedom without economic freedom is meaningless. Not to speak of unemployed women, even the employed ones have to depend on husband or in-laws for money. Employed women can't spend their income as they choose. They work for their in-laws. They have to work at home like drudges. They have to do the entire household job.

Women live in eternal slavery:
A sister has to depend upon his brother. A daughter has to seek her father's permission for taking up a job. A wife has to move with her husband's and her in-laws permission. A mother dependent on her sons and husband. A widow can't move without her son. Thus we have convinced out women that they are essentially was creatures and they need male support for their living.

Polygamy is allowed to men:

A man can marry as many times as he likes. Society keeps its mouth shut. But monogamy is a women's privilege. Widows are hated and insulted in this great country. Widow marriage yet to get social sanction.

A woman can't move freely:
A freedom seeking woman is  considered as an adulteress and temptress. All social taboos are meant for women has to suffer social inhibitions in every field.
It is a fact that we have now women in leading positions in all respectable fields. And mind, they are not inferior to men. Smt. Indra Gandhi was the strongest Prime Minister in the world of men. Men failed but she succeeded. But as a woman she suffered a lot.

We have women engineers, women doctors, women architects, and woman administrators. The world belongs to women but it is sad that their home does not belong to them. Women are free to choose their career but how many? Very few of them are notionally free and that to in the metropolitan cities.

The village women are yet to see light to western freedom. They work like their cattle in the fields. Very few intellectual women are partly free an; 1 too in some spheres. To sum up, women are yet to get their rightful place in the Indian society. They will have to rise in revolt and end monopoly.

                                    Feel the Pain

I feel estranged when people starts blaming their fate for every bad situation. I mean how they get enough time to blame their fate at the time, when they need to find solutions for the concerned  problems. No matter how minor or major the problem is, everyone keeps on saying ‘meri kismet kharab hai’. If kismet (fate) plays such an important role in one’s life, then why people work hard for their survival. I mean they can leave everything on their fate.

Imagine a world where one gets everything without struggle, pain and hassle. He will enjoy such things for a certain period. Slowly but surely, the adventure and  excitement in life will diminish. The day will come, when life will loose all its charm. Everyday will be the same day and this will led to the extreme state of boredom.

Whenever things go wrong, one should think “Zyada se zyada kya hoga” and this takes us to the extreme height of happenings. Then whatever the result may be, it will be less then what you expected. Learn to enjoy the hardness of life, then automatically you will be blessed with the soft side of life.

I agree that money has some importance, but there are

 few things called relations, there are few things called humanity, friendship, love and affection. These are much more important than money. But I feel very sad, that many few people are ready to accept it. Mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, friends

 do not matters for them, but what matters is money.

Always remember, money can help you to buy the luxuries of life, but cannot get the real usage of them. money can help you to buy a bed,

but it cannot give you the proper sleep….

 Money is a boon for anyone till the day it meant for internal satisfaction and happiness. But the day it comes to show off and prove oneself superior than others, it becomes a bane.

At last I would just like to say that people must understand their responsibilities, we must help each other at times of miseries,because whatever we do today,we have to see it tomorrow..and one line i.e

. when we have the mother’s pyaar, the father’s fatkaar,the sister’s friendly war,and friends hajaar…then the life becomes very comfortable yaar……..

It has rightly been said that teenage is “one step after childhood” and “one step before adulthood”. But a question arises is this tricky age easy to get trapped in the temptations and adventures associated with it. Flashy bikes and new cars are the dreams, they wear branded clothes and prefer a glass of coke and French fries. They are very conscious of what they want to become, how they would prefer to be seen and known socially, they try to redefine culture and look things in a fresh way. Meet them they are generation-x.  Will this new generation would be able to keep this rich legacy of traditions flowing to be passed on the generations to come. He or she feels like a bird that has just learnt how to fly, to be on one’s own in the sky. As always there are two sides of the coin, teenage is the time when one has to build up ones career, compete with others and also with one’s own expectations and mainly to come up to the expectations of one’s parents, faculty and friends. So, teenage is the golden time in one’s life which is like seeing life through coloured glasses.

ARE MEDICAL AND ENGINEERING OPTIONS STILL THE SAFEST BET FOR GEN NEXT?

We have stepped into the 21^st century but still have not come out of the 19^th century mode. It itself suggests our narrow-mindedness. In today’s world the opportunities are no longer restricted to medical and engineering fields. The economy of the world including India’s expanding. This in itself is an indication that there is a scope for other fields. Sports, defence, fashion, modelling, space, law and the media are just some of the examples of areas where one can excel. We have number of world recognized institution which offer courses in the above fields. We are brought up with the dreams of IITs and AIIMS. We are mad to burn the midnight oil, literally. And the result ? Everyone cannot become an IIT graduate. It’s not a question of hard work but to know what one is good at .  A saturation point is about to reach in the medical and engineering fields. There are scores of colleges in almost every state. Today along with good engineers and doctors, we need to honest politicians, good lawyers, journalist and economists. It’s an opening question. They need to identify the areas in which a child can be successful. Doing something beyond the obvious should be the attitude...

Most of the problems emanate from the family itself. The trend of time is such that people prefer nuclear families and the women are mostly job-oriented. The complexities of life leave little or no time with the parents for their children. The school remains the only institution on this front. But unfortunately most of them have become commercial rather that education oriented. The youth experience the latest fashion and celebrate newer festivals like Valentine’s Day, mother’s day, father’s day etc. Which has never been a part of our country? Our own culture and tradition has already so colourful and worth living with, then what is the need for introducing these western trends in our lifestyle. Let’s not forget, that we are the ones who have to strengthen the roots of our culture and traditions and hence the roots of our values and character. The grim reality is that there is a vast ocean of temptations. It has to be a package of to enjoy them but still side by side struggle and work hard in order to ensure a bright future, financial stability, too thereby a sound settlement in life.
